Sistem pencahayaan pada area pit tambang berperan penting dalam menjamin keselamatan dan kelancaran operasi, terutama pada kegiatan malam hari. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis dan meningkatkan sistem pencahayaan otomatis di pit tambang PT. Kalimantan Prima Persada site Sebamban Baru melalui penerapan time delay relay dan optimalisasi posisi tower lamp. Metode penelitian mencakup studi literatur, observasi lapangan, perancangan sistem kontrol otomatis, pemasangan pada tiga dari sembilan tower lamp, serta evaluasi kinerja setelah implementasi. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa time delay relay mampu mengotomatisasi proses penyalaan dan pemadaman lampu secara konsisten dengan keberhasilan 100%. Intensitas penerangan meningkat dari rata-rata 15,67 lux menjadi 52,67 lux sehingga memenuhi standar minimal. Selain itu, waktu losstime akibat gangguan penerangan turun dari 18,7 jam menjadi 10,2 jam, menandakan peningkatan efisiensi operasional. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa penerapan kontrol otomatis berbasis time delay relay terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan kualitas pencahayaan, mengurangi downtime, serta mendukung keselamatan dan produktivitas tambang.

Abstract


The lighting system in open-pit mining areas is essential for ensuring operational safety and continuity, particularly during nighttime activities. This study aims to analyze and enhance the automatic lighting system at the PT Kalimantan Prima Persada Sebamban Baru site by applying a time delay relay and optimizing tower lamp placement. The research method includes literature review, field observation, design of an automatic control system, implementation on three of nine tower lamps, and performance evaluation. The results show that the time delay relay successfully automated lamp operation with full reliability. Lighting intensity increased from an average of 15.67 lux to 52.67 lux, meeting the required minimum standard. Lighting-related losstime also decreased from 18.7 hours to 10.2 hours, indicating improved operational efficiency. The study concludes that integrating an automatic control system using a time delay relay effectively improves illumination quality, reduces downtime, and supports safety and productivity in mining operations.
