This research explores the effect of the Group Investigation (GI) cooperative learning model on the academic performance of fifth-grade students in the Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) subject at SDN 13 Popai. The study was driven by students' low academic achievement, which did not meet the Minimum Competency Criteria (KKM), minimal classroom participation, and the continued use of teacher-centered teaching methods that proved less effective. Using a quantitative research approach, the study adopted a one-group pretest-posttest experimental design involving all 22 fifth-grade students. Data were gathered through cognitive tests conducted before and after the intervention, along with documentation of the research process. The analysis included normality testing and hypothesis testing using the Wilcoxon signed-rank test. The results demonstrated that the Group Investigation model significantly improved student learning outcomes. The Wilcoxon test produced a significance value of 0.000, which is below the 0.05 level, indicating a rejection of the null hypothesis (H₀) in favor of the alternative hypothesis (H₁). In conclusion, implementing the Group Investigation cooperative learning model significantly enhances IPAS learning outcomes for fifth-grade students at SDN 13 Popai by increasing student participation, promoting critical thinking, and encouraging collaborative learning.
