Abstract

ABSTRACT

This study  This research aims to design an Internet of Things (IoT)–based automatic fish feeding system for comet fish using NodeMCU ESP32 integrated with the Blynk application for remote monitoring. The study adopts a Research and Development (R&D) approach including needs analysis, system design, hardware assembly, software programming, functional testing, and evaluation. The system uses an ultrasonic sensor to detect feed levels, RTC for automated scheduling, and a servo motor for feeding mechanisms. The system successfully dispensed feed according to schedule, enabled manual/automatic feeding through Blynk, and provided real-time feed level monitoring. Testing results indicate accurate sensor readings, stable servo movement, and reliable IoT connectivity. The integration of ESP32, RTC, servo motor, and ultrasonic sensor into a compact IoT feeding module provides a more efficient and low-cost solution compared to conventional designs. This system supports fish keepers and small-scale aquarium businesses in maintaining consistent feeding schedules and reducing the risk of overfeeding.

ABSTRAK

Penelitian ini bertujuan merancang sistem pemberi pakan ikan komet berbasis Internet of Things (IoT) menggunakan NodeMCU ESP32 yang terintegrasi dengan aplikasi Blynk untuk monitoring jarak jauh. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan R&D melalui tahapan analisis kebutuhan, perancangan sistem, perakitan hardware, pemrograman software, pengujian fungsional, dan evaluasi. Sistem memanfaatkan sensor ultrasonik untuk membaca kapasitas pakan, RTC untuk penjadwalan otomatis, dan motor servo untuk mekanisme pemberian pakan. Sistem mampu memberikan pakan sesuai jadwal, melakukan feeding manual dari Blynk, serta menampilkan status pakan secara real time. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan sensor akurat, servo stabil, dan konektivitas IoT berjalan baik. Integrasi ESP32, RTC, servo, dan ultrasonik dalam satu modul IoT memberikan solusi yang lebih sederhana dan ekonomis dibandingkan sistem serupa sebelumnya. Sistem mendukung konsistensi pemberian pakan, memudahkan monitoring, serta mengurangi risiko pakan berlebih atau terlambat.
