Abstract

Anemia masih menjadi masalah gizi yang banyak dialami remaja di Indonesia dan berpotensi menjadi faktor risiko stunting di masa depan. Kurangnya pengetahuan gizi merupakan salah satu penyebab tingginya angka kejadian anemia. Upaya peningkatan pengetahuan dapat dilakukan melalui edukasi gizi menggunakan media yang menarik, seperti video edukatif. Penelitian ini merupakan studi kuantitatif dengan desain pra-eksperimen menggunakan pendekatan one-group pretest-posttest yang bertujuan mengetahui pengaruh edukasi gizi berbasis video terhadap pengetahuan tentang anemia dalam pencegahan stunting pada 81 siswa kelas XII di SMAN 1 Juai. Kegiatan edukasi meliputi penyampaian materi mengenai anemia, penyebab, dampak, serta pencegahan stunting melalui presentasi PowerPoint dan video edukatif. Data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner pre-test dan post-test serta dianalisis menggunakan Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. Hasil menunjukkan peningkatan pengetahuan siswa secara signifikan setelah edukasi (p = 0,000; p < 0,05). Proporsi siswa dengan pengetahuan baik meningkat dari 53,1% menjadi 75,3%. Kesimpulannya, edukasi gizi berbasis video efektif meningkatkan pengetahuan siswa tentang anemia dan dapat digunakan sebagai media pembelajaran yang menarik dan mudah dipahami untuk mendukung upaya pencegahan stunting di kalangan remaja.

ABSTRACT

Anemia remains a prevalent nutritional issue among Indonesian adolescents and poses a potential risk factor for future stunting. Limited nutritional knowledge contributes significantly to the high incidence of anemia. Educational interventions, particularly those utilizing engaging media such as videos, can enhance students’ understanding of nutrition. This quantitative study employed a pre-experimental one-group pretest-posttest design to assess the effect of video-based nutrition education on anemia knowledge related to stunting prevention among 81 grade XII students at SMAN 1 Juai. Educational sessions included presentations on anemia, its causes, impacts, and prevention strategies, supported by PowerPoint and educational videos. Data were collected through pre-test and post-test questionnaires and analyzed using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. Results indicated a significant improvement in students’ knowledge after the intervention, with a p-value of 0.000 (p < 0.05). The proportion of students with good knowledge increased from 53.1% to 75.3%. These findings demonstrate that video-based nutrition education effectively enhances adolescents’ understanding of anemia prevention, thereby contributing to stunting prevention efforts. Educational videos serve as attractive and easy-to-understand media that can be integrated into school-based health promotion programs to improve adolescent nutrition awareness.
